What is solar racking?

You will only see these solar panels when they are installed on the roof. But underneath the panel there is a structure that holds the solar panels in place. This structure is called a solar shelf or solar mount. Therefore, solar mounts are an important part of every solar system, connecting the solar panel system to the roof or ground.

In simple terms solar racking systems or solar panel mount are used to support solar arrays on any surface.

Furthermore, the solar racking system is responsible for transferring the weight of the solar panels to the roof structure, it must ensure that the weight is distributed and not fixed only at certain points due to the static of the roof. Most of the time, these solar mounting systems are made of aluminum because the material is lightweight, yet strong, resistant and durable.
